El presente trabajo trata de ofrecer un enfoque que permita conocer el desarrollo de la identidad cultural de Embalse y su relación con la Unidad Turística de Embalse como símbolo y patrimonio local. Indagaremos sobre el impacto sociocultural que tuvo y tiene este complejo hotelero no solo referido al turismo, sino también relacionado con los ciudadanos desde su perspectiva de actores locales a lo largo de la historia. Es por ello que, partiendo de la revisión bibliográfica de los hechos históricos contextualizaremos el origen de Embalse como pueblo, con la creación de grandes obras que lo convirtieron en un punto turístico muy importante dentro de la sierras de Córdoba a mediados del siglo XX; propiciando así la posterior creación de la Unidad Turística Embalse. De la misma manera buscaremos ahondar en la creación y caracterización de la Unidad Turística de Embalse y su gemela en Chapadmalal. Como foco principal de nuestro trabajo, nos interesamos en conocer los puntos de vista de nuestros entrevistados adoptando una metodología cualitativa en la recolección de datos. Así es que daremos cuenta de las expectativas, memorias, y percepciones que tiene la población local sobre pasado, presente y futuro de su historia reconociendo que sí existe un vínculo entre los habitantes de Embalse y la Unidad Turística que genera un fuerte sentido de identidad y pertenencia.

The present work tries to offer an approach that allows to know the development of the cultural identity of Embalse and its relation with the Embalse Tourist Unit as a symbol and local patrimony. We will inquire about the sociocultural impact that this hotel complex had and has not only referred to tourism, but also related to the citizens from their perspective as local actors throughout history. That is why, starting from the bibliographic review of historical facts, we will contextualize the origin of Embalse as a town, with the creation of great works that turned it into a very important tourist spot within the Cordoba mountain range in the mid-twentieth century; thus propitiating the subsequent creation of the Embalse Tourist Unit. In the same way, we will seek to delve into the creation and characterization of the Embalse tourist unit and its twin in Chapadmalal. As the main focus of our work, we are interested in knowing the points of view of our interviewees by adopting a qualitative methodology in data collection. Thus, we will give an account of the xpectations, memories, and perceptions that the local population has about the past, present and future of its history, recognizing that there is a link between the inhabitants of Embalse and the Tourist Unit that generates a strong sense of identity and belonging.
